Frequently Asked Questions
Certification refers to the process by which RoyalCert independently verifies that your organisation's management system, product or personnel meets the requirements of a particular standard. Accreditation is the process by which an authoritative body (such as UNAB) recognises RoyalCert as competent to provide certification services. In simple terms: RoyalCert certifies you; accreditation bodies accredit RoyalCert.
The timeline depends on your organisation's size, scope and readiness. For a typical small-to-medium organisation, the full certification process from application to certificate issue takes approximately 3–6 months. Larger or more complex organisations may take longer. RoyalCert will provide you with a specific timeline as part of your certification proposal.
Certification fees depend on the certification scheme, your organisation's size (number of employees), scope of certification, number of sites and the complexity of your operations. Contact RoyalCert for a tailored, no-obligation quotation for your specific requirements.
Management system certificates are typically valid for 3 years from the date of issue, subject to satisfactory annual surveillance audits. After 3 years, a recertification audit is required to renew the certificate for a further 3-year cycle.
Nonconformances identified during an audit require corrective action before certification can be granted or maintained. Minor nonconformances are typically closed through evidence submission; major nonconformances may require a follow-up visit. RoyalCert's auditors will clearly explain the requirements for closing any nonconformances identified.
Yes. RoyalCert can conduct a transfer audit to assess your existing certified management system and, if satisfactory, issue a RoyalCert certificate for the remaining period of your certification cycle. Contact us to discuss your transfer requirements.
Yes. RoyalCert can conduct an optional Stage 1 audit (documentation review) which helps identify any significant gaps in your management system before the main Stage 2 audit. This is particularly recommended for organisations pursuing certification for the first time.
